Mission
Central Street Studios (CSS) is a longtime artist workspace community in Somerville. Featuring 25 studios over four floors & 6600 square feet, CSS provides affordable workspace for artists including illustrators, sculptors, floral artists, jewelry makers, printers, musicians, painters, photographers, video installation artists, literary artists, fiber artists, and more.
Founded in 1983 by Paul & Karen Morse, woodworker/fiber artists respectfully, with partners Nancy Dutton & David Bensen, it has always been their mission for the creative community to continue into the future, serving the arts sector of Somerville.

The artist community participates in the annual citywide Somerville Open Studios each May & will be open to visitors May 3 & 4, 12pm to 6pm. Open Studios are free & open to the public.
